🎯 Position Overview
As our Remote IT Director, you will define, implement, and oversee the company’s IT strategy, infrastructure, operations, and security policies. Reporting directly to the CIO, CTO, or COO (depending on structure), you’ll manage IT staff, systems architecture, vendor partnerships, and ensure service reliability, compliance, and innovation.
This role is ideal for a technology leader who can balance executive vision with operational excellence — while working fully remote.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute an enterprise-wide IT strategy aligned with business goals
- Oversee global IT infrastructure, cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), SaaS platforms, and enterprise systems
- Lead and scale distributed IT teams across networking, system administration, security, and support
- Manage large-scale cloud migrations, digital transformation, and automation initiatives
- Establish cybersecurity policies, risk mitigation strategies, and compliance with frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA)
- Own the IT budget, vendor negotiations, and licensing agreements
- Monitor performance KPIs, uptime SLAs, ticketing systems, and user satisfaction
- Lead IT due diligence and integration in M&A scenarios (if applicable)
- Partner with engineering, HR, security, and product teams on company-wide initiatives
- Report progress, gaps, and risk assessments to C-suite and board (as needed)
🧠Qualifications
- 8–12+ years of experience in IT, with 3+ years in a Director-level or senior IT leadership role
- Proven experience managing remote teams across time zones
- Hands-on knowledge of enterprise infrastructure: networking, firewalls, endpoint management, identity & access controls
- Deep understanding of cloud computing models, SaaS integrations, and security
- Strong project management background with experience leading complex rollouts
- Familiarity with ITIL, NIST, or ISO 27001 frameworks
- Executive communication skills and the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related; Master’s degree or MBA a plus
