We are looking for a Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, secure, and optimize databases, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. This role offers an exciting opportunity for freshers looking to launch their career in database management as well as seasoned professionals aiming to further develop their skills in a dynamic, data-driven environment. You will play an essential role in keeping our databases secure, efficient, and scalable.

Key Responsibilities

1. Database Installation & Configuration
   • Install, configure, and upgrade database servers (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, etc.).
   • Ensure databases are optimized for performance, reliability, and security.
2. Performance Tuning & Optimization
   • Monitor database performance and execute index tuning and query optimization.
   • Implement techniques like caching, partitioning, and load balancing to enhance performance.
   • Troubleshoot slow queries and resolve database bottlenecks.
3. Backup & Disaster Recovery
   • Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies to safeguard against data loss.
   • Ensure databases align with disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
   • Regularly test backup restores and failover processes.
4. Security & Compliance Management
   • Implement robust database security policies, roles, and access controls.
   • Ensure compliance with industry standards like GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2, etc.
   • Monitor and respond to unauthorized access, threats, and vulnerabilities.
5. Database Maintenance & Automation
   • Automate routine database administration tasks using scripts and management tools.
   • Conduct regular health checks and integrity tests to ensure system reliability.
   • Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and IT teams to optimize database workflows.

Requirements

Experience Level

• Fresher: Strong understanding of databases and SQL fundamentals, eager to learn and develop in database administration.
• Experienced (1-3+ years): Hands-on experience with database performance tuning, security, and high-availability architectures.

Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.).
• Knowledge of database replication, clustering, and sharding.
• Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, Azure SQL, etc.).
• Familiarity with database monitoring tools (Nagios, SolarWinds, New Relic, etc.).
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell are a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certifications such as Oracle DBA, Microsoft SQL Server DBA, AWS Database Specialty are a plus.

Salary & Benefits

• Entry-Level (Fresher): $70,000–$90,000 per year
• Experienced (1-3+ years): $90,000–$130,000 per year
